OUR STORY

Made by hand.
Offered to the world.

A family of makers in the Colorado mountains. Everything we sell, we made.

SÖZ
/ söz /  ·  Turkish
1
Word. Something spoken and meant.
2
Promise. A commitment made and kept.
3
Pledge. An oath of intent and follow-through.
4
The end of our family name — and the promise behind everything we make.

A name that means everything we stand for.

SÖZ is the end of our family name, Toksöz. When we were naming the brand, it was right there — already ours, already true.

Because that's what every handmade thing is, really. A promise. That care went into it. That no shortcuts were taken. That real people made it, thought about it, put something of themselves into it before handing it off to you.

That's the standard we hold ourselves to. Every candle poured, every shirt printed, every spoon carved, every stitch placed. Each one a söz — a word given, a promise kept.

Adam & Maggie Toksöz

We make things.
We always have.

SÖZ Bazaar is both of us — Adam and Maggie Toksöz — making things together in the Colorado mountains. Upcycled apparel, soy candles, original paintings, hand-carved wooden goods, embroidered pieces, serrano salt grown and dried by hand. Nothing outsourced. Nothing mass produced. Everything a team operation, start to finish.

We started making things because we needed to. Not for the market, not for a business plan — just because making is how we're wired. Adam draws everything first, always pen on paper, and Maggie makes things from scratch in the most literal sense: she grows the peppers that go into the salt. Everything we sell came out of that same impulse to make something real.

SÖZ is the end of our family name, Toksöz. The name was already ours — it just took us a while to realize it fit the brand perfectly. A word. A promise. A pledge. That's what every piece we make is: a söz.

We sell at pop-up markets and through this store. We don't wholesale. We don't dropship. Everything you buy from us was touched by human hands, in the mountains, by the two people whose name is on the label. We're building toward something larger — a physical space, a proper bazaar — but for now, this is where to find us.

PROCESS

How We Make Things

01

Screen Printing

Every print starts as a drawing — pen on paper first, never a computer. Adam burns the screen, pulls the squeegee by hand, and heat-cures each piece. Water-based ink soaks into the fiber and ages with the garment. All upcycled garments are thrifted or sourced secondhand.

02

Candle Pouring & Self Care

Maggie pours every candle in small batches using 100% natural soy wax and California Prop 65 compliant fragrance oils — the strictest clean fragrance standard in the country. She makes the beard oil, soaps, and salves. Adam designs and hand-prints every label.

03

Wood Carving

Both of us carve. We work in Colorado aspen and cherry, shaping spoons and utensils by hand using traditional carving tools. No lathes, no shortcuts. The wood decides a lot of the final form — every piece is 1 of 1.

04

Embroidery & Sewing

Adam and Maggie embroider and sew together. Some pieces get embroidered details, others are sewn from scratch or altered. Another way we take something existing and make it something new — or build something entirely from the ground up.

05

The Paintings

Adam works in mixed media on wood panel — acrylic, charcoal, chalk, paint marker. Each piece is 1 of 1. His work has been shown at Blo Back Gallery in Pueblo, CO. For studio visits and gallery inquiries, contact us directly.

06

The Salt

Maggie grows and dries serrano peppers in Colorado, grinds them with sea salt, and packs each jar by hand. Adam designed and printed the label. A fully in-house product, from seed to your shelf.

THE LONG GAME

Bigger than a website.

SÖZ Bazaar is a brand right now. But it's always been a vision of something larger — a physical place, a community, a world you can actually walk into.

We're building toward a space in the Colorado mountains: a proper bazaar shop, an art gallery with rotating shows, a reservation-only farm-to-table restaurant, a small farm that supplies the kitchen, AirBnB cabins, and an artist residency program. Events, performances, workshops, and gatherings.

Building it slowly, deliberately, by hand. The way we make everything else.

You're early. That matters.
